We’ve got an all-star multimedia event… TOMORROW EVENING!
Secret Room is the last stop on comics artist/filmmaker/animator Matthew Thurber’s Vexations tour — we’re psyched that it has filled out with a few other wonderful folks. Here’s the lineup and info about the event:
Matthew Thurber — Mrs William Horsley mobile scientific research vessel is arriving in Portland to terraform the city with VEXATIONS — a 45 minute 16mm film with life mixed sound and multiple projections, directed, edited, and performed by Matthew Thurber, author of Mr. Colostomy, Looking for the Cat, 1-800-MICE, and much more.
Marc Bell — Comics reading from the brilliant artist behind Raw Sewage Science Fiction, Boutique Mag, Stroppy, Shrimpy And Paul, and much, much more.
Phull Collums feat. Christopher Adams & Amanda Berlind — Live music in the tradition of the self taught artist. Music for boxes and music for walls.

Hearts & Hooves Pony Day Adoption Event at Secret Room!
Helping Little Ponies Live Big Dreams
On Saturday, July 20th (Pony Day 2024) we’re hosting Hearts & Hooves, Portland’s non-501c3 organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of G1 My Little Ponies. Ponies come with RISO prints, care instructions, and other fun stuff!
This is an all-day adoption event from 12-7pm!
Hammer on your horseshoes and gallop — don’t trot — to Secret Room on July 20th. It’s fun! That’s why they call it a fundraiser. Part of the proceeds are going to Paw Team PDX this time around.
Come visit on SATURDAY and see the ponies, touch the ponies, kiss the ponies, adopt the ponies!
🌀 Mossytown Art Show 🌀
The Mossytown art show is still on display at the shop, a beautiful combination of new RISO prints, one-of-a-kind ceramic pieces, and a risograph photo zine!
This show will be up for just two more weeks! Come see these unique pieces — residents of Mossytown — before they go to their new forever homes.

COMING SOON…
MOVIE NIGHT — You asked for it! We’re bringing back VHS & werido screenings from our 2023 pop-up. Scheduling soon but we’ll definitely have Ross Jackson back to screen Tales from the Far Side (1994) and John James will be hosting an evening screening of the sci-fi classic Outland (1981). We’re also planning on a recurring Adventures from Moominvalley (1990-1991) evening where we watch a few episodes of the incredible Finnish-Japanese cartoon animated by Telescreen Japan.
NEW MINI SERIES — We’re starting a new Secret Room Press project: a mini comics & art book series… wanna know more? Too bad! Stay tuned for announcements about it, but right now we’ve got a few books with some amazing artists in the works and are super excited for what’s to come!
LIVE MUSIC @ SECRET ROOM — We want to host more music here. Do you play (or know folks who play) ambient, electronic, quiet, new age, acoustic, or experimental music on the lighter side? Anybody you’d like to see perform here? Hit us up! We’ve got some folks we’re talkin’ with but we’re always up to chat and meet new music pals!
